What is Financial Analysis?
Submitted by admin on Tue, 07/06/2010 - 00:53Financial analysis is the conversion of financial data into useful information for decision making. Therefore, virtually any use of financial statements or other financial data for some purpose is financial analysis and, essentially, is the primary focus of accounting and finance professionals. Financial analysis can be internal (e.g., decision analysis by a company using internal data to understand or improve management and operating results) or external (e.g., comprehensive analysis for such purposes as commerical lending or investment activities).

Submitted by admin on Tue, 06/15/2010 - 22:20It appears like, I need to fill in the Tax Form 1099 to file my income from Trading Stocks. Explain Index Funds and ETFs
Submitted by admin on Tue, 07/14/2009 - 00:57Index Funds
An index fund is a "passively" managed mutual fund that tries to mirror the performance of a specific index, such as the S&P 500 or the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Since index funds attempt to mirror a stock index, decisions about which stocks to buy and sell are automatic for the fund and transactions are infrequent. This means that index funds do not require the management of a professional money manager, and so they are said to be "passively managed" (while any fund that requires a manager to select stocks is said to be "actively managed").

How is the BSE Sensex Calculated?
Submitted by admin on Fri, 11/07/2008 - 02:05The Sensex has a very important function. The Sensex acts as an indicator of the stocks in the BSE. It is supposed to show whether the stocks are generally going up, or generally going down.
To perform this accurately, the Sensex is calculated taking into consideration stock prices of 30 different BSE listed companies. It is calculated using the “free-float market capitalization” method, which is a world wide accepted method as one of the best methods for calculating a stock market index.
